According to the Nebular Hypothesis, our solar system formed from a rotating cloud of gas and dust that gradually condensed due to gravitational instability. This synthesis reflects the core, cosmological truth baked into our DNA. In other words, it’s who we are.
These days, our ability to assemble a common perception of "who we are" is drowned out by floods of digital noise, an escalation of sensory input more suited to machines than the human brain. With increasingly fewer moments of stillness, we beg the question, "If my truth is not your truth, what is THE truth?"
In their original form, these photographs depict everyday scenes and natural landscapes. Their "truth" has been manipulated to reflect back our original nebulous state, providing meditative opportunities to re-synthesize our perception of what it is to be human.
